New AS/NZS 1252 High Strength Steel Bolts; Minimising Risk with Design and Installation-Sydney

High Strength Structural Bolts are a key component of modern steel structures.  With all bolts now being imported from overseas, increased pressure is being placed on the whole supply chain to ensure that they comply with standards and are correctly installed on site.

This evening presentation is designed to assist you to manage risk by improving procurement and compliance outcomes including duty of care under WHS for these safety critical fasteners.  The presentation will include discussion on the requirements of AS/NZS 1252, in particular with relation to installation and what engineers, constructors and erectors need to know.  The presentation will include a live demonstration of the correct method of installation and tensioning.

Presentation Topics:

  • Historical background to structural bolting and AS1252
  • Differences in the new 2016 standard
  • K0 (K-ZERO) and K2 Hobson offer. Differences and certification.
  • Installation and DTIs

Who Should Attend?

The seminar will provide clarity for all parties in the construction supply chain, supporting transparent and defendable design, procurement and installation practices and supporting obligations.

It will greatly assist:

  • Structural Engineers and those who need to understand and specify structural fasteners
