National Health and Safety Committee

National Health and Safety Committee

The National Health and Safety Committee consists of ASI member company professionals and aims to cultivate a healthier and safer steel industry through promotion and education support. The National H&S Committee engages the State Safety groups to comment and assist with Health & Safety programs and activities.

The core principles of the Committee are as follows:

  • All injuries and work-related illnesses can and must be prevented
  • Management is responsible and accountable for health and safety performance, employee engagement and training
  • Working safely is a right of employment
  • Excellent health and safety performance at work supports excellent business results. Health and safety must be integrated in all business management processes to support that outcome.

The ASI encourages and invites all members to participate in the State Safety group forums.
