For several years the BCA did not include durability requirements of steel lintels from AS/NZS 2699.3:2002 Built-in components for masonry construction - Lintels and shelf angles (durability requirements) in its documentation. BCA 2009 includes an upgrade in the corrosion provisions in line with national and international steel corrosion control standards for engineering purposes.
