Based on currently available information, the galvanizing of Grade 500N reinforcing bar affects neither its mechanical properties nor its bond strength to concrete. Further research is examining the effects of severe cold bending beyond AS 3600 limits to determine whether strain ageing or hydrogen embrittlement occurs. In: Corrosion Management, May 2006
