FDN5 Bare steel and the DTS provisions_OS32

There are numerous building situations where the current DTS provisions of the BCA allow the use of bare steel construction, but these situations are not always being considered by building practitioners. Examples include virtually all single storey factoy and warehouse buildings, buildings with mezzanine floors below specific area limits, warehouses with attached offices in many cases and large, isolated two-storey buildings. When DTS provisions are not met, bare steel construction may still be possible using fire engineering design principles.
