This handbook summarises standard fire test data for fire protection materials applied to steel members and composite beams. It assesses the materials on a consistent basis to enable the required thickness to be ascertained without reference to individual test reports. Values of fire protection thickness determined in accordance with this handbook may be deemed to satisfy the ASI document "Guidelines for assessment of fire resistance of structural steel members". All data was obtained from tests which satisfy the relevant requirements of AS 1530, Part 4 -1985.
