Francisco Irazusta will be the new CEO of InfraBuild, taking over from Dak Patel in October. The Australian steel business is part of Sanjeev Gupta’s global GFG Alliance. Patel will stay on the board.

ASI member Dynamic Steel Frame has won through to the final of the 2023 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards. Winners will be announced at an awards gala dinner on August 10 at Palladium at Crown.

ASi member Watkins Steel and Dynamic Steel Frame (DSF) have both been mentioned in a list of most innovative manufacturers in Australia. Queensland manufacturer Watkins Steel received a Silver Award in the news website auManufacturing awards, with DSF a highly commended.

Representatives from the Victorian Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) recently visited InfraBuild’s steel manufacturing site in Laverton accompanied by ASI’s Victorian state manager Sulfi Soeleiman and InfraBuild’s head of sales Nick Fithall (pictured) as part of a site visit to discuss local milled steel content in strategic infrastructure projects. A similar tour of Dynamic Steel Frame and ASI fabricator members Structural Challenge and Skrobar Engineering is planned for July 25.
