How to whitelist an email address

Ensure that emails from the Australian Steel Institute don't go to your junk folder

What is an email whitelist?

To whitelist an email address means that you are adding them to your approved senders list. This means that your email client will put emails from this sender in your inbox rather than sending them to your junk folder.

Email providers have different ways of doing this.

Outlook

Go to the Home tab and select Junk then Junk E-mail Options. On the Safe Senders tab click Add and enter the email address or domain name (for example: @steel.org.au) that you would like to add to your approved senders list.

Gmail

Click on the cog in the top right and select See all Settings.  Click on the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab. Select Create a new filter, in the From field type the email address or domain name (for example: @steel.org.au) that you want to add to your approved senders list. At the bottom of the box click Create Filter, tick Never send it to Spam, click Create Filter to finish the process.

Hotmail, Bigpond or Outlook via a browser

Click on the settings cog to the top right of your screen. Click Mail then Junk email. Under Safe Senders and Domains click Add and enter the email address or domain name (for example: @steel.org.au) that you want to add to your safe senders list.

Yahoo

Select Settings from the drop down menu in the top right. Click on Filters on the left. Click Add new filter and type the email address or domain name (for example: @steel.org.au) in the From field.
