Precision in steel

Based in Currumbin Waters on Queensland’s Gold Coast, Richards Steel Fabrication (RSF) brings decades of experience to projects ranging from boutique builds to large-scale commercial developments.

Its in-house capabilities include expert drafting, precision fabrication, and seamless onsite welding and installation. This integrated approach makes it a one-stop shop for structural steel.

Nationally the company has undertaken high-profile projects such as the Game Over entertainment complex in Helensvale, the Darrell Lea Factory in Sydney, and multiple Aldi retail sites. More recently it completed an 8,000 square metre warehouse at Meakin Rd,

Logan and an architectural feature for Alder at Hillcrest College. These achievements reflect RSF’s commitment to delivering on time and to specification, no matter the scale or complexity.

Backing the company’s achievements is CC2 certification under the ASI’s Steelwork Compliance Australia (SCA) scheme, meaning RSF has the necessary controls and processes in place to meet the design assumptions and risk mitigation requirements of most builds.  https://www.scacompliance.com.au/about-sca/

Director Alan Richards – who launched the company 26 years ago - said ASI has been a welcome partner for the past six years helping the company meet its regulatory requirements and represent its interests to government and elsewhere.

“Fabricators are under pressure nationally from a surge in imported fabricated steel and we welcome the ASI’s representation to government, and in the media seeking safeguards and other measures to help the local industry.”  https://www.steel.org.au/what-we-do/advocacy/asi-campaign-on-imported-fabricated-steelwork/

“Separately, CC2 certification under the ASI’s SCA scheme provides assurance to clients and government bodies that our work is competent, tenders based on quality comparisons, and risks managed effectively,” he said.

With a team of more than 40 skilled professionals—including estimators, welders, boilermakers, riggers, and crane operators—RSF prides itself on combining technical expertise with logistical agility.

It also owns and operates its own plant and equipment, reducing reliance on external suppliers and ensuring greater control over timelines and quality. A 3D scanner is employed for break-in projects.
