Adelaide Trucks & Vans (ATV) has rapidly emerged as a key logistics partner for South Australia's steel and construction industries.
Founded in 2021, the Cavan-based company has grown from a single vehicle to a fleet of 60, becoming the state's largest supplier of rigid tray tops.
ATV specialises in transporting steel products, fabricated components, and construction materials, offering tailored freight solutions for manufacturers, fabricators, and distributors. Their services include local and regional deliveries, scheduled runs, and project logistics, all supported by advanced fleet management systems.
Director Mansij Bhan told Metal Musings the company has a strong focus on driver safety, with two ex-BlueScope workers employed to train drivers on the best way to secure loads including steel coil and oversized loads.
“We provide drivers with the newest trucks and the best training; that way we know they and other drivers are safe on the road,” he said. The company is investigating further ways to improve training through the Australian Skills Quality Authority.
In 2025, ATV invested $2 million to expand its fleet, adding nine new vehicles, including Fuso Canter 815s and truck-mounted Loadmac forklifts. This expansion enhances their capacity to serve sectors like construction, wine, timber, and general freight.
Demonstrating a commitment to safety and innovation, ATV is equipping its fleet with AI-powered dashcam technology from Linxio. These systems monitor driver behaviour and road conditions in real-time, promoting safety and compliance with heavy vehicle regulations. Its cameras identify risky driver behaviour including mobile phone use, unsecured seatbelts and harsh driving. They can also detect if a driver is yawning or microsleeping to prevent fatigue related accidents.
The Dashcams can also notify drivers of potential road hazards such as approaching pedestrians, with a voice assistant to alert drivers to potential risks. So far, more than 50 ATV vehicles have been equipped with three high definition Linxio cameras front facing, a rear-facing and driver facing. Vehicles.
Real-time footage means fleet managers can assess driver performance, mitigate risk and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
As an active member of the Australian Steel Institute, ATV continues to support the steel supply chain across South Australia and beyond, reinforcing its role as a trusted logistics provider in the industry. Details: https://www.steel.org.au/industry-directory/atv-adelaide-trucks-and-vans/
