City Square Project, Perth

The Australian Steel Institute (ASI) is hosting a seminar on the iconic City Square Project in Perth. This case study for structural steelwork in multi-storey commercial buildings covers all the aspects of building, design and steel construction.

Why this Seminar is a must!

Combining ‘City Square’ Perth building experience from Brookfield Multiplex with leading edge design from Fitzpatrick+Partners, Hassell and Aurecon and the steel contractor experience of Pacific Industrial Company, this seminar is a first in providing exciting new and practical information on multilevel steel construction in Perth.

Brookfield Multiplex (BM) is construction contractor for the steel framed City Square tower in Perth. This design for the tallest side core commercial building in the Southern Hemisphere was able to achieve significant cost savings and planning for ‘future use’ including tenant interconnectivity between floors whilst allowing earlier occupation. David Eden, BM Construction Manager will take us through their steel experience.
Architects Hassell will be demonstrating the structural form achievements achieved by the collaboration of Fitzpatrick+Partners.
Structural Engineers Aurecon will carry through with the engineering design demonstrating current advanced design technologies.
Steel Fabricators Pacific Industrial Company as contractor for the construction of the steel frame will present the effect of the latest technology on building construction and demonstrate the competiveness of steel framing in todays’ market.

Who should attend?

  • Quantity surveyors to lock into current steel costing
  • Builders to understand the relative competitive position of steel vs concrete
  • Fabricators and riggers to add a new dimension to their offer
  • Engineers and architects to understand the current thinking in steel design and cost effects of automation
