The ASI has just released a completely new publication that lays plain the basic design and construction of steel framed buildings with composite steel and concrete floors.
Authored by Anthony Ng and Gary Yum from ASI sustaining member OneSteel Manufacturing, the full colour publication provides builders and engineers with measures that deal with key issues. It guides the reader in addressing issues in a progression so the end result is a cost-effective, low-risk and readily constructible building with the flexibility for future alterations with changing tenancy.
The publication is designed as an introduction and directory to more detailed information on the relevant design and construction aspects raised. It features chapters on Structural Framing, Floor Design Aspects, Construction Aspects, Different Building Types covering multi-storey offices, two-storey offices with warehouse, shopping centres and carparks. “The new guide responds to greater demand for these types of structures in Australia with steel framing’s share of the multi-storey buildings marketing rising from three to 13 percent in recent years,” said ASI Chief Executive, Don McDonald.
The publication is solely available from the ASI Bookshop via mail order to PO Box 6366 North Sydney 2059 or online at email@example.com for $49.00 ($32.00 for ASI members) plus postage and handling if applicable. Phone enquiries should be directed to 02 9931 6666.
