Comments are being invited on a handy new design guide being released by the National Association of Steel-Framed Housing (NASH) until 12 October 2007.

The new publication follows the successful referencing of the NASH Standard for Residential and Low-rise Steel Framing Part One Design Criteria in the Building Code of Australia (BCA). Together with Part One of the NASH Standard, the information in the handbook will allow the development of span tables which will form Parts Two and Three of the NASH Standards to be referenced in the BCA. It gives guidance on all aspects of steel framing as well bringing together industry information all into one document. The committee is still finalising some of the diagrams and consequently they have not been incorporated into the draft up for review.
